Nearly half of UK jobseekers less likely to apply where AI screens them

Morgan McKinley’s 2026 Global AI Report, written up on 6 November 2026, finds 49% of UK jobseekers would be less likely to apply for a job if the employer uses AI screening or evaluation tools. 27% of UK candidates have a complete distrust of AI in recruitment decisions, and 40% trust it only if there is human oversight. 55% of UK candidates use AI to write or refine their CVs and cover letters.
